Giovanni Bellini (Circle of) - Christ Blessing, 15th century

Giovanni Bellini (circa 1430–1516) was an Italian Renaissance painter, widely regarded as one of the most influential artists of the Venetian school. Born into a prominent family of artists in Venice, Bellini was the son of Jacopo Bellini and the brother of Gentile Bellini, both accomplished painters. He played a pivotal role in transforming Venetian painting, moving it away from the late Gothic style toward the use of vibrant color, naturalistic detail, and emotional depth.
Bellini's early works were influenced by the rigid, linear style of the Byzantine tradition and his brother-in-law, the painter Andrea Mantegna.
